9 Tips to Ace in the Super TET Examination




Super Tet is an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for selection of candidates for appointment as teachers in schools affiliated to the CBSE.

The TET examination consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is of objective type and is common for all candidates. It is designed to test the general awareness and general knowledge of the candidates. Paper II is of subjective type and is specific to the subject selected by the candidate. It is designed to test the teaching aptitude and subject knowledge of the candidates.

The examination is held twice a year, in the months of February and September.

The candidates who qualify in the examination are placed on a merit list, which is prepared based on the marks scored by the candidates in both the papers. The candidates on the merit list are then called for interview and the final selection is made based on the performance in the interview.


Super TET Exam Pattern

Paper-I will be of a total of 150 marks and will be of 90 minutes duration. Paper-I will consist of questions from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (compulsory), Language II (compulsory), Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Paper-II will be of a total of 150 marks and will be of 90 minutes duration. Paper II will consist of questions from Child Development and Pedagogy (compulsory), Language I (compulsory), Language II (compulsory), (A) For Mathematics and Science teacher: Mathematics and Science(B) For Social Studies/Social Science teacher: Social Science(C) For any other teacher: either (A) or (B) Exam Pattern for Paper III and Paper IV- Paper III and IV will be of conventional type, written in Hindi or English. Paper III and Paper IV will consist of questions based on the content of the discipline chosen by the candidate to be taught at the Elementary stage. Paper III and Paper IV will be of total 200 marks each. Paper III and Paper IV will be of 2½ hours duration each. Final Selection Criteria

As per the official notice, the merit list will be prepared separately for each subject and method/medium. The candidate will be allowed to participate in the next selection process only if he/she has been selected in all the papers in the selection process. Candidates who have qualified Paper-I and Paper-II and Paper III and Paper IV separately will be considered for selection. Examination Scheme for Paper I and Paper II

Paper-I and Paper II will be of objective type, multiple choice questions will be asked. 1/4th mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer. No negative mark will be given for unattempt answers.


Examination Scheme for Paper III and Paper IV

Paper III and Paper IV will be of conventional type and question will be asked from the content of the subject selected by the candidate for paper II.

There will be no negative marking for wrong answers in paper III and Paper IV.
